Privacy Policy
1. Introduction & Commitment to Privacy
Welcome to MediaGrab (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and respecting your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose information when you visit and use our website at https://mediagrab.app.
2. 100% In-Browser Client-Side Processing Architecture
Unlike traditional file conversion websites that upload your files to remote servers, MediaGrab processes all media, images, and documents 100% locally inside your web browser using modern client-side technologies including WebAssembly (WASM), Web Workers, and the HTML5 Canvas API.
- Zero Server Storage: Your uploaded photos, documents, and spreadsheets are never uploaded to our servers, cloud storage, or third-party hosting providers.
- No File Logging or Snooping: We cannot see, read, store, or copy your files. Once you close your browser tab, all memory allocated for your files is immediately wiped by your browser.
- No File Retention: We have zero access to your files, ensuring absolute confidentiality for sensitive personal, legal, and financial records.
3. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising (Mandatory Disclosure)
MediaGrab uses Google AdSense and other third-party advertising partners to serve advertisements when you visit our website. To comply fully with Google AdSense Publisher Policies, we make the following explicit disclosures:
- Third-Party Vendor Cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to MediaGrab or other websites on the Internet.
- Google Advertising Cookies: Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Opting Out of Personalized Advertising: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative.
4. Information We Automatically Collect (Log Data & Analytics)
When you visit MediaGrab, our hosting infrastructure and analytics providers (such as Google Analytics 4) may automatically log standard, non-personally identifiable technical information, including:
- Browser type and version (e.g., Chrome, Safari, Firefox).
- Operating system (e.g., Windows, macOS, Android, iOS).
- Referring URL and exit pages.
- Date and time stamps of your visit.
- Anonymized IP address (used strictly for geolocation traffic statistics and security analysis).
This data does not identify individual users and is used solely to improve site performance, analyze user behavior, and maintain platform stability.
5. Cookies and Web Storage
We use cookies and browser localStorage to deliver an optimal user experience:
- Essential Storage: Storing your user interface preferences (such as selected conversion settings and dark/light mode).
- Consent Storage: Remembering whether you have acknowledged our Cookie Consent banner so we do not bother you on every page reload.
- Advertising & Analytics Cookies: Placed by Google and its advertising partners to deliver relevant advertisements and monitor conversion performance.
For more detailed information, please review our comprehensive Cookie Policy.
